What Have I Been Up To?

I feel torn between my hobbies at times, and for the past few months art has taken a back seat as I strive to make progress on some guitars, including the one pictured below, which I finally strung up yesterday. This guitar is destined for Tiani, a young local musician, and the daughter of a family friend.

With Tiani's guitar completed, I have two more waiting in the wings, after which I'm sure I'll feel ready to return to the collection of unfinished paintings competing for space in the so-called "spare" room!

Some other recent instruments are pictured below. You can check out my guitar building adventures here if you're so inclined.

Cheers
Pete

Wow, these are lovely! You are a man of many talents Peter. I understand your frustration with too many interests/hobbies...we have built a house full of furniture but now I rather feel like painting.
Looking forward to when you pick up the brush again!

Thank you Colette. I'm itching to resume work on some paintings, but I know that when I do so, I'll miss my woodworking hobby. Retirement beckons!

Thanks Clive. I guess the danger is that I've become a Jack-of-all-trades, and a master of none!

Pete, I did find your other blog some time ago but wasn't sure if it was you or not - your photo looked similar but you never mentioned before this other hobby of yours. I have to say though that I was very impressed but the incredible quality of skills you brought to creating each guitar. I played when I was younger and had a go a building my own so know the amount of work involved - really beautiful stuff! And like Colette, I'm also looking forward to seeing some finished painting from you too, in the meantime I'll amuse myself by checking out your 'other' blog again.

Thanks for visiting Jeremy. Perhaps one day I'll have enough time to pursue my hobbies concurrently!
