Conte and pastel pencil on Canson Mi-Teintes pastel paper
12" x 16 1/2"
At the risk of being labelled "the roo guy", here's a new drawing I completed over the weekend. Once again, the reference photograph was taken among the spinifex grass and stunted shrubs along the coastal fringe adjoining Western Australia's Cape Range.
I seem to be able to complete these Conte drawings in days rather than the weeks required by my larger acrylic paintings. Apart from adding a little variety to the work I have available for sale, they provide some welcome relief from the more challenging and time consuming paintings and help me feel I'm actually achieving something!
Cheers
Pete

Hi Peter
I have been very well this works in pastels. I think I like more than the last. I am also experimenting with this technique because as you say, are completed before other techniques. A greeting
Lluis, thanks for visiting, and for your comments. I look forward to seeing the results of your own experiments with pastels.
Nice work Peter! I will need to try my pastels on Canson's paper. I find that working in so many different mediums has it's own challenges.
Thanks Colette. I do feel a little more in control with these drawings, but need to guard against using them as a means of avoiding my paintings!
Pete, don't worry about being the "roo guy", they are wonderful animals. We have several at the San Francisco zoo that I like to visit. And keep up on the drawing, it makes for better painting.
Thanks for stopping by Denny. If I'm "the roo guy", I guess you're "the bird guy"! Your current painting is looking great - I look forward to the next 49!
