Web Site Launch

Although its galleries are sparsely populated at present, I'm pleased to announce that I finally have a web presence. Please enter my web site and take a look around. Don't forget to wipe your feet, and DON'T TOUCH ANYTHING!

Over the coming days I'll review the content and will no doubt edit some of the text with a view to optimising my site's placement by the various search engines. I'll also add my return policy and insert some additional scripts so I can analyse site traffic using Google Analytics, a free and very useful tool. Google Adwords is a "pay-per-click" service also worthy of consideration; I know it's yielded huge increases in site traffic for my other business web site.

Cheers
Pete

Thanks Denny. When I'm rich and famous, you'll be able to tell your grandchildren you were the very first visitor to Peter Brown's web site!

Love your web site! Very Professional andthe colour theme is so Australian! I am interested to note that your prices are in USD and not AUD.

The site looks great! And your work is just amazing, Peter...

Grahame, when I narrow the gap between the painting I have in my head and the one I'm able to produce, I may have trouble parting with them, but that's some way off yet!

Sally, my banner image came first and set the scene for the rest of the colour scheme. I figure US dollars are more familiar to those shopping on the web. Also, at first glance, prices in Australian dollars appear to be higher giving a false impression, so a bit of marketing psychology influenced my decision!

Tracey, I admire your work so much and I'm totally floored to read comments such as this. Thanks!

Enjoyed your site very much Peter. Congrats on all the work you've put there. I agree with Denny, the water on rocks series is fabulous. May I suggest you put out a jar of lollipops in your gallery for visiting children?
All the best
April

Thanks for visiting April. There's a hitching rail for children at the entrance. Didn't you see it?

April Jarocka said...

Nope. There were too many hosses drinking at the trough to see the rail.

Nice site Peter, congrats! I especially like the water and rocks series, something I am working on myself. I notice that most of your work is in acrylic, have you tried oils or watercolor? Just interested really why you prefer acrylic.

Peter Brown said...

Hi Jeremy - thanks for stopping by!

I guess I've put in the effort to develop the techniques to work with acrylic and I've become (almost) comfortable with it. I find it can be used much like watercolour, and can achieve results similar to oils too. Also, I've become increasingly wary and intolerant of anything solvent based, although with better ventilation and a good enough reason to do so, I might try oils again one day.
